A sales development representative (SDR) focuses on prospecting and lead qualification. SDRs don’t need to close deals; rather, they connect with as many leads as possible, extracting only the most relevant prospects and moving them up the sales pipeline. When a prospect shows interest, the SDRs schedule a meeting with one of the company’s sales executives. SDRs’ main goal: connect with as many leads as possible. The first step is getting attention. SDRs use a multi-channel approach to reach more leads. It starts with a LinkedIn connection request, followed by messaging, social media contact, and direct email and ultimately phone calls. By the time you get to the phone, the prospect is no longer a stranger… Quality SDRs will try anything and everything until they find what works.
